Refractor telescopes
are favorites among amateur astronomers for their exceptional image
quality. The low-maintenance, ease of use, and versatility for terrestrial
viewing are also attractive features. Refractor telescopes used to be
more expensive than other popular designs, but this direct factory source
has made them extremely affordable. There are two models to choose from:
the altaz-mount 60 mm refractor and the deluxe 90 mm equatorial refractor.
Prices:
$89 - 199.

This 90 mm catadioptric
telescope combines the advantages of refractors and reflectors. The
use of both lens and mirrors allows the light path to be folded within
the telescope, resulting in long focal length in a very compact package.
It is both a portable telescope and a high power spotting scope for
nature lovers. Maksutov-Cassegrain used to be the most expensive among
all designs, but it is now available at only $219. |
